Q: How do you grade your vintage items?

A:

We only sell items that we deem are in Very good condition although most will be excellent

We will do our best to mention in our descriptions any faults that we can find, we will also try to mention if there has been any apparent alterations to any items.

Q: How do you measure your items?

A: All items are laid flat and we take size measurements from seam to seam where appropriate. If you are unsure a good tip would be to find an item of clothing that you own and that you know fits well and lay the item flat and take similar measurements to compare with the garment you would like to purchase, if you need any advice please don’t hesitate to contact us.

ABOUT SIZING

We have been having quite a few questions from confused buyers just recently about sizing so please do take a moment to read this:-

We do not know what size you are - but we do know what the exact measurements of this item are - so please do take note that they are the EXACT measurements of the garment and are not your chest size/bust size etc.

I do try to give the ladies an estimate of what size the garment would fit.

Vintage sizes are completely different to todays modern sizing so whatever the label says is not likely to fit a modern day equivalent - this is why you MUST go by the measurements provided.

As a short guide this is what we recommend:-

MENS:- Shirts/polo shirts/banlons/ knitwear/waistcoats etc:- Knock 2" off the measurements we have provided for a nice easy fit.

Coats/jackets:- remember that you will be wearing items underneath these so for lightweight coats and jackets knock off 2" and heavier coats and jackets up to 4" off.

Trousers/jeans should be the exact measurements we have provided.

LADIES:- Bust:- 32" Waist:- 26" Hips:- 32" estimated UK size 8

Bust:- 34" Waist:- 28" Hips:- 34" estimated UK size 10
Bust:- 36" Waist:- 30" Hips:- 36" estimated UK size 12
Bust:- 38" Waist:- 32" Hips:- 38" estimated UK size 14
Bust:- 40" Waist:- 34" Hips:- 40" estimated UK size 16
Bust:- 42" Waist:- 36" Hips:- 42" estimated UK size 18
Bust:- 44" Waist:- 38" Hips:- 44" estimated UK size 20

This mainly applies to dresses although there will be some exceptions such as shift/tent/trapeze dresses which are oversized so are meant to bigger - also Coats and jackets - please remember you will want to wear something underneath these so should give an extra 2-4" of room.

But please again, do check as we are all unique and one of a kind just like the clothing we sell!
