Theses jackets were made between 1952 - 1960.
There were numerous 7823 contracts, with L W FOSTER having several over the decade Foster jackets are among the most common of the 7823 (AER) series and are very well made and proportioned.
The jacket is in very good condition for its age
The leather is in good worn in shape, there are obvious signs of wear to the leather, the back does have a tiny nik which we have photographed, there is also a a mark to one arm.
The jacket has a great vintage look to it.
The lining is in good shape however there is a few marks and some splitting along the collar edge, a small hole to each cuff so would benefit from a small amount of stitchwork.
The zipper is working however the tab is missing and has been replaced with a safteypin to open and close
The knit waistband is in very good condition with no holes
The knit cuffs are sadly no longer there, however after doing a quick search on ebay you are able to purchase replacement cuffs for under £10, for a jacket of this quality and age in our opinion we would feel that to have new cuffs added would be worth while.
The Moulton collar is in good shape with one side more worn than the other which is typical of a used flight jacket, there is a small bald spot to the left tip
USN stencil to storm flap
